Laura is very experienced in handling and leading large-scale proceedings.
Laura is a senior associate in our Dispute Resolution Practice and is based in The Hague. She is also a member of our Tech & Comms Group.
She specialises in commercial litigation, focusing on issues relating to telecommunications, IT, and manufacturing industries. In particular, Laura has a wide range of litigation experience in cases regarding infrastructure (telecom and energy), antenna sites, IT disputes, product liability, insurance, and disputes relating to agent and distribution agreements. She has litigated in cable damage cases for several telecom clients, before the district court and the court of appeal, and she has also led a team of junior associates dealing with the litigation of these cable damage cases for many years.
Besides civil court proceedings, Laura has also acted in arbitration proceedings before the Dutch arbitral tribunal for automation disputes (Stichting Geschillenoplossing Automatisering) in several IT related disputes. Laura joined us in 2005. She studied law at the University of Groningen, specialising in civil law and information technology law. During her studies, she worked as an intern at a law firm in Washington DC and, subsequently, with us. In 2010, Laura successfully completed the postgraduate ‘Company & Liability’ at the Grotius Academy.
Laura is a member of the Dutch Associations for Procedural law (NVvP) and for Liability and Compensation Law (VASR). She has also published various articles regarding liability issues in the telecommunications and energy sector.
