Laurentien advises both domestic and international clients on real estate investment transactions.
Laurentien is a senior associate and candidate civil-law notary in our Notary department, which is a part of our Corporate Practice. Laurentien divides her time between our offices in The Hague and Singapore.
She advises major listed and private Dutch and foreign companies, Governments and non-profit organisations, particularly with regards to offices, warehouses, logistics, retail, leisure/hotels and residential properties. Her responsibilities include drafting and finalising documentation including joint venture agreements, mergers, sale purchase agreements, deeds of transfer and mortgage, guarantees and other related security documents.
Laurentien works closely with our Banking & Finance Practice to advise on asset finance transactions and on the transfer and financing of ships registered in the Netherlands. She is also a member of our Tech & Comms Group.
Laurentien is a civil law Notary Candidate since 1998 and joined us in 2011. Before joining us, Laurentien worked for several American law firms in the Netherlands and for one of the largest real estate advisory firms on several real estate projects for foreign banks, institutional investors, private investors and government related entities. In 2012 and 2013 she worked part time as an in-house legal officer for a Dutch merchant bank in Singapore. She graduated with an LL.M. in notarial law from the University of Amsterdam in 1998, completed the Professional Education programme for civil law notaries in 2002 and was sworn in as a prospective civil law notary by the Court in Amsterdam. Laurentien subsequently graduated with a Master of Real Estate (MRE) in 2009, writing her thesis on Sharia Compliant finance and has been a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2010.
