Karin is an associate in our Intellectual Property Group based in Stockholm.
Her specific areas of expertise are trademark law, domain names, marketing law and copyrights. Karin is part of our Media, Entertainment & Sport and Retail & Consumer sector groups and she provides legal advice to both national and international clients in various Intellectual Property matters, including licensing issues, opposition proceedings, infringement matters and trademark portfolio strategy.
Prior to joining us, she was an intern at the Media and Communications department of the Swedish representation of the European Commission.
Karin's LL.M. thesis "Loss of exclusive right to a trademark due to passivity of the trademark holder" was published in the Intellectual Property journal "Nordiskt Immateriellt Rättsskydd (NIR) No 3, 2013 and has been referred to in the commentary to the Swedish Trade Mark Act, written by a renowned Swedish law professor. She is also a co-author of "Kluwer Trademark Litigation Smart Charts" and "Kluwer Copyright Law Smart Charts", which are published online by Wolters Kluwer. While Karin was a student at the University of Stockholm she represented Sweden in the finals of the Nordic Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition 2012.
Since joining us, Karin has accrued substantial experience in trademark proceedings/litigation, intellectual property strategy work and contract drafting within various fields of Intellectual Property.
