I am a senior associate in our Commercial practice in London. I specialise in negotiating renewable energy and smart energy transactions and I'm passionate about all things green - at work and in other parts of my life! As well as transactional work, I provide energy regulatory and environmental law advice to clients.
My clients construct, operate and invest in renewable energy projects. I've advised on deals across the spectrum of renewable generation in the UK and internationally, including solar, wind, CHP, energy from waste, anaerobic digestion, biomass, distributed generation, energy storage and corporate power purchase agreements. I work with clients to understand their projects and their commercial motivations, and together we shape and develop the contracts which are required for these projects to work.
I enjoy being involved in innovative and disruptive areas of the energy sector and take a keen interest in the development of new green areas of business, such as corporate energy users directly buying green power through corporate power purchase agreements, and the second life use of electric vehicle batteries for energy storage. I'm also developing my expertise in the implementation of smart energy systems, providing regulatory advice and acting for clients involved in the rollout of smart meters in the UK.
I am part of our London environment team, which is a great fit with my energy work and broader green focus. We are a cross-practice group that advises clients from across the firm on compliance with English and European environment regulations and contractual obligations relating to environmental law. We take part in the UK Environment Law Association and the City of London Law Society environment group, and I also sit on the London Bird & Bird environment committee - a non-legal group looking at ways we can make our firm and offices even more environmentally friendly.
