As an associate and data protection specialist in our Intellectual Property and Information Technology team in Brussels, I advise our clients on a wide range of matters in data protection, intellectual property and information technology, as well as media and telecommunications.
I have a passion for working with clients on emerging and disruptive technologies such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, AI, 3D printing, cookies, and electronic signatures. I undertake both advisory and litigation work in various legal areas including copyright, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, e-marketing, intermediary liability, online gaming and IT contracts.
I have been with the team at Bird & Bird since 2014. Given our background and involvement in multiple sectors and practices, we regularly work on all legal issues related to data at large. This work notably includes reshaping the legislative framework related to personal and non-personal data.
I also ensure the legal compliance of research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission in various fields, such as cloud computing (CoCo Cloud), big data (TOREADOR and LeMO), the General Data Protection Regulation (DEFeND), and cybersecurity (Threat-Arrest).
My involvement in research projects, background in data protection and passion for emerging technologies have allowed me to gain significant experience in issues at the crossroads of law and technology, such as anonymisation and pseudonymisation techniques and cybersecurity.
I speak the same language as our clients, both literally and figuratively. On a literal level, I am fluent in Dutch, English and French and have a good understanding of German and Italian.
