Janette has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters.
Janette is a managing associate in our China intellectual property group, based in Hong Kong.
Janette has more than 10 years of experience in handling local and foreign trade mark prosecution work, including advising clients on international trade mark portfolio management, providing advice on the registrability of trade marks, conducting trade mark clearance searches, devising trade mark filing strategies, handling official actions and contentious proceedings such as trade mark opposition, revocation and invalidation actions, as well as trade mark post-registration matters such as trade mark assignments, licences and security interests. She also advises clients on IP enforcement matters and assists clients in conducting IP due diligence for merger and acquisition projects that involve transactions of intellectual property rights.
Before joining us, Janette served with the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong Government where she obtained useful insights into the trade mark examination requirements in Hong Kong and gained invaluable experience in handling trade mark hearings before the Hong Kong Trade Marks Registry. With first-hand experience in the public sector, she is well equipped to provide practical advice to clients, particularly on trade mark prosecution matters.
