Ian is an experienced lawyer who works closely with his clients to successfully implement digital transformation and other technology projects.

Ian is a partner in the Commercial Group based in London where he advises clients on a wide range of technology and commercial projects, with a focus on supporting clients with digital transformation projects.

He has a particular interest in retail tech, but also acts for both customer and supplier clients in a broad range of other industry sectors, including financial services, energy, healthcare, IT and communications.

Ian's areas of expertise include ICT/BPO outsourcings & complex technology procurements, cloud/SaaS projects, e-commerce solutions, artificial intelligence, blockchain & smart contracts, agile software development, cybersecurity and open source licensing.

Within the healthcare sector, Ian has a keen interest in e-health and m-health projects.

Ian’s experience includes advising on the full project lifecycle, from the initial tender and vendor selection process, through the contract negotiation phase, to ongoing contract management and renegotiation, and ultimately to termination and exit arrangements.

He also has extensive experience of advising on all aspects of a project, including structuring and risk allocation, pricing and value for money models, performance incentive regimes and service continuity issues.
