Howard has over 30 years' experience in advising between major international companies and government bodies.
Howard is a partner in our Commercial Practice, based in London.
He acts primarily for businesses in the IT sector, regularly advising clients on purchasing and selling IT goods and services and advising companies from a range of sectors on their cloud initiatives.
Howard has worked on a number of innovative projects, including the first major UK telephone bank. Clients value his experience in negotiating and advising on public sector agreements, having acted for the Home Office, Immigration Service, and Benefits Agency. He has particular experience in negotiating high level agreements with major international companies, government and European Commission bodies.
Prior to joining us, Howard was Group Legal Director of Sega Europe Limited. He was involved in formulating policy issues in Europe for many of the Sega platforms, as well as negotiating major agreements and determining licensing and distribution issues. Whilst at Sega he was also the Commercial Director having line responsibility for a number of commercial aspects of the business, including distribution, manufacturing, and supporting the subsidiaries on continental Europe.
Howard was the lead developer of our award winning Virtual General Counsel service. The FT Innovations Award was presented for delivering outstanding client services.
He has written on many legal topics, contributed to Database Law published by Jordan's where he wrote the chapter on international copyright and lectures on contract, copyright and competition law in relation to IT both in the UK and abroad.
