Hibah Rizki

Junior Business Analyst

I am a Junior Business Analyst at twoBirds Pattern, which is Bird & Bird's patent intelligence consultancy offering. Pattern sits within the Intellectual Property practice and the Technology & Communications sector group in London.

Having studied Statistics at the London School of Economics, I am intrigued by the power of big data analytics and how it has transformed the way in which companies make decisions. I work hard to bring the same transformative technologies to the intellectual property and legal sectors, for the benefit of our clients.

Since joining Bird & Bird in 2018, I have worked within the Pattern team to value and landscape patent portfolios and to calculate appropriate royalty rates for a range of technologies. I have been involved in several data-driven portfolio valuations and licensing disputes, including those relating to Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) for high-profile telecoms clients. As a business analyst, I contribute to the analytical, rather than legal, elements of the advice provided by Pattern to our clients.

I contribute to various publications, including writing articles for Bird & Bird's Advance Series campaign, which featured on the Telegraph. I also work with the GSMA to run Mobile World Live's Intellectual Property blog, a new webpage covering global mobile industry news.

I am a member of our BAME network: Embrace, which has been set up to promote cultural diversity both within the firm and in the legal industry as a whole.
