Helen has a broad litigation practice covering the full range of IP rights, with a special focus on copyright, trade secrets and pan-European patent litigation.

Helen is a Partner in our International IP Group based in London.

She focusses on contentious IP matters across the spectrum of IP rights and has particular experience in disputes relating to copyright and trade secrets, and in pan-European patent litigation. Helen has represented clients before the Patents Court and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court in the UK and in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office. Helen also has experience of mediation and arbitration in the context of IP disputes.

Helen's practice covers a range of industry sectors including media, telecommunications, financial services and IT. She also advises on disputes relating to medical devices. Helen's reported cases include NGPOD v Aspirate n Go Ltd; Smith International v Halliburton Energy Services Inc.; Nokia Corporation v InterDigital Technology Corporation; European Central Bank v Document Security Systems Inc.; Gemstar-TV Guide v Virgin Media and Jarden Consumer Solutions Europe Limited v SEB SA.

Helen holds an LLB (Hons) from University College London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from Bristol University. Helen is an Officer of the IP and Entertainment Law Committee of the International Bar Association. In 2015, Helen was shortlisted as an 'IP rising star' at the MIP Euromoney LMG Europe Woman in Business Law Awards. She is ranked in the 2016 edition of Chambers & Partners UK, and has been named in the 2017 edition of WIPR Leaders as a Leader in her field.
