Her scientific background and industry experience as an inspector give Hanneke a unique understanding of regulatory matters in the life sciences sector.
Hanneke is a senior associate in our Intellectual Property Practice and is based in The Hague. She is both a lawyer and a pharmacist.
Hanneke is a former Inspector for Clinical Trials and Pharmacovigilance at the Netherlands Inspectorate for Healthcare (IGZ) which gives her a unique perspective and understanding of regulatory matters in the life sciences sector, particularly in the medical and pharmaceutical matters. She is also a member of our Life Sciences Group.
Hanneke advises life sciences and healthcare clients on a range of issues, usually with a regulatory focus. Her areas of expertise cover issues relating to marketing authorisations, reimbursement, compliance, pharmacovigilance and advertising issues, particularly with regard to medicinal products and medical devices. She also assists clients with product liability issues with respect to medical devices. In addition, she has experience of assisting our Corporate team with IP and regulatory issues concerning transactions in the life sciences sector.
Hanneke joined us in 2010. She studied law and pharmacy at Utrecht University and holds a PhD in clinical pharmacokinetics from Radboud University, Nijmegen. She regularly publishes on regulatory life sciences issues such as new European legislation and the impact of recent judgments.
Hanneke is a member of the Dutch Association for Pharmacy and Law (VFenR), the Dutch Association for Health Law (VGR) and the Dutch Association for Food Law (NVLR). Furthermore, she is a member of the Advisory Board of the Pharmacovigilance Platform Netherlands (PPN) and the AmCham Young Professionals group.
