Guillaume has experience in all types of IP matters, with a particular focus on trademark, copyright and patent law.
Over the years, he has developed particular expertise in managing complex litigation in trademark, copyright and patent law, but also in various commercial disputes (e.g. distribution, sponsorship, etc.). Guillaume also regularly advises clients on the drafting and negotiation of various types of IP agreements, global trademark policy and strategy, etc. His practice focuses on the Life Sciences, Retail & Consumer (incl. Food & Beverage and Luxury) and Media & Entertainment sectors.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2011, he worked in the intellectual property department of DLA Piper in Brussels and as a trainee in the Directorate Patent Law department of the European Patent Office in Munich.
Guillaume completed his law studies at the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix of Namur (FUNP-2005) and at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL – 2008). He also holds a master's degree in intellectual property law from the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel.
He was admitted to the Brussels bar in 2009.
Guillaume is fluent in French, Dutch and English and has a good understanding of German.
