I am an associate in the Corporate and Energy & Utilities Group. I am a project finance lawyer, advising clients on renewable energy transactions in the energy and utilities industries.
Before joining the firm in Sydney, I was a project finance lawyer in India, where I advised major listed financial institutions, international commercial banks and infrastructure companies.
As a senior associate with a law firm in Delhi, I advised energy and infrastructure clients on multi-million dollar transactions in the solar, wind, biomass, thermal, hydropower, and large road and urban infrastructure projects.
I have also worked in the financial capital of India, Mumbai, as a legal counsel for an infrastructure major closing transactions summating above one billion dollars within their power, energy, oil & gas, airports, and infrastructure businesses. This in-house experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of business, strategy, and driving value for shareholders.
The exposure in project finance with large energy and infra conglomerates in a fast-growing economy equipped me with skills required to negotiate and close complex transactions with multiple stakeholders and aggressive timelines. I have drafted and successfully negotiated long term secured loans, corporate loans, refinancing & bridge loans, and external commercial borrowings. With a strong interest in sustainability, I am keen to draw on my relevant renewable energy experience and assist clients investing in this sector.
Living in multiple countries (India, the UK, the Netherlands, and Australia), and extensive global travel has strengthened my respect and understanding of international cultures. I enjoy working with people and I am motivated by the strong positive impact I am able to bring to my clients through my work. I am accustomed to working with the clients in the Indian sub-continent, and my knowledge of the local language further helps me in serving them better.
