I am an associate in our Privacy and Data Protection Group, based in London. I am experienced in co-ordinating and implementing multi-country GDPR compliance projects, and advising on strategic legal issues regarding European data protection and ePrivacy law.

I have been with Bird & Bird since 2015, when I joined on qualification. Since joining, I have assisted many UK and international clients work towards and achieve GDPR compliance whether through the implementation of full-scale, cross-jurisdictional compliance projects or providing strategic legal advice.

More specifically, implementing compliance projects has involved engaging stakeholders, conducting audit interviews, drafting gap analyis reports, recommending remediation actions, drafting GDPR compliant policies, processes and other accountability documentation, and assisting with the internal roll-out of the same. In terms of the provision of practical advice, I have conducted data protection impact assessments, delivered GDPR training and assisted in obtaining approval for BCRs. I have provided strategic legal advice on ePrivacy issues, such as, the application of the soft opt-in exemption, re-consenting under the GDPR, and the application of country-specific EU marketing rules to global marketing initiatives.

I have completed several client secondments, and am currently providing DPO services to a global software company which specialises in event management technology. I have contributed to various legal publications, in addition to the team's monthly data protection UK bulletin and client news alerts.
