Elizabeth is an associate in the Intellectual Property group in London, having joined Bird & Bird in 2007. Before training to become a solicitor, she obtained a PhD in molecular genetics from Cambridge University.
Elizabeth has been involved in a broad range of intellectual property matters in relation to patents, trade marks, passing off and copyright. She has worked for clients from a number of different industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, fashion, media, finance, IT and e-commerce. Due to her background, Elizabeth has a particular interest in the life sciences sector.
In 2008, Elizabeth was seconded to the legal department of a major internet payment services provider where she dealt with all threatened and County Court proceedings, as well as larger High Court proceedings.
Recently, Elizabeth was seconded to Bird & Bird’s Brussels office where she assisted with a number of pan-European chemical and pharmaceutical patent disputes.
Elizabeth has contributed to various legal publications, including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents and the World Intellectual Property Report.
