Dr. Marc Grunwald is an experienced lawyer specialising in patent law who combines judicial and technical expertise with deep understanding of clients’ needs
Marc is a member of our Intellectual Property Group, based in Munich.
He focuses on national and international patent litigation and also provides general legal advice in intellectual property law and copyright law.
Marc was admitted to the Bar in 2010. He is a certified expert in IP law (“Fachanwalt für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz”). Before joining us in November 2011, Marc practised patent law in an international law firm in Munich, where he gained experience in patent infringement proceedings.
Marc studied law at the University of Münster. He also completed a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property Law (“LL.M. Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz”) at the University of Düsseldorf in 2007. He gained his doctorate based on a topic related to international private law at the University of Münster in 2008.
During his legal clerkship Marc worked for an international law firm in Düsseldorf and also gained insight into the decision making process of the Patent Senate of the Court of Appeals Düsseldorf for several months.
Marc is a member of the German Intellectual Property and Copyright Association (GRUR) and publishes articles in professional law journals frequently. Furthermore, Marc regularly gives speeches on different patent topics and is a lecturer at the IP specialisation course for attorneys of Wolters Kluwer.
