I'm an IP lawyer acting for businesses in a range of IP-rich industries, in particular those in the technology, communications, entertainment and media sectors.

My background as an engineer enables me to analyse complex problems and deliver tailored, practical advice.

In recent years I have been involved in a range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters.

With my background in computing, I am often involved in disputes involving complex technologies. My recent experience includes matters involving reservoir flow measurement techniques, cellular standards, power electronics and blockchain-based asset management technologies.

I've also worked on brand management and protection, including advising an international media organisation on its global trade mark portfolio and litigating a trade mark claim before the High Court and Court of Appeal.

I have advised on copyright in computer software and breach of confidence – working closely with our client to develop robust and defensible processes for designing and implementing technology via a clean room process.

I am a keen proponent of legal innovations. I am a member of the core team behind our market-leading patent analytics offering 'Pattern' and I'm presently involved in a cutting-edge AI and natural language processing project.

I am a member of the IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology) and SCL (Society for Computers and Law).
