I am an associate in Bird & Bird's Employment team based in Madrid.

My practice covers employment litigation, employment contracts for executives as well as rank and file employees, negotiation of individual and collective termination procedures (redundancy procedures), negotiation of CBAs, labour conflicts and demonstrations, HR strategies, M&A labour advice, tax implications and pensions. I have negotiated numerous restructurings and massive layoffs with unions and works councils, as well as high-profile executive terminations.

I have extensive litigation experience and have represented domestic and multinational companies before the Courts on various issues. I have also provided practical day-to-day advice to many important multinational companies.

In addition I frequently collaborate with employment publications, contribute articles to specialist employment and HR-related journals and regularly lectures in master programs.

  • Representing major companies in the banking/finance, healthcare and technology industries before the High Court of Madrid and the Supreme Court on a variety of issues, including, dismissal claims, stock options and in harassment claims for over USD1 million.

The matter constituted one of the largest labour restructuring in the construction sector in Spain over the last few years and involved substantial negotiations with the Employee's Representatives.
  • Advising one of the largest chains of movie theatres on all labour, employment, social security and redundancy issues arising from its merger with another audio-visual company.
