Overview

Armand’s outstanding knowledge and attention to detail have earned him a great reputation in patent litigation in the electronics, life sciences and food sectors.

Armand is a partner in our Intellectual Property Practice, and is based in The Hague. He co-heads our Tech & Comm Group in the Netherlands and is a member of Bird & Bird's global Executive Committee.

With over 25 years of experience, he is fully dedicated to intellectual property litigation and providing strategic advice. Armand has developed a strong focus on international patent disputes in Tech (electronics, telecoms) and Life (pharma, biotech, medical devices and food).

Armand's other main fields of attention are trademark litigation (especially anti-counterfeit), trade secrets litigation as well as IP transactional services. 

Armand was admitted to the bar in 1991 and joined us in 2001 at the start of our office in The Hague. In 2007 Armand became managing partner and ran our office in The Hague for eight years. 

Armand is recommended by several international rankings (Chambers, Legal500, Who's Who Legal Patents) and has won several awards over the years including the World Leader Award for best contribution to European patent litigation and the ILO's Client Choice Award twice. He is also featured several times as an IP Star in the edition of IP Stars as published by Managing Intellectual Property and as leading litigator in Patent 1000 of IAM.
