I am a corporate partner with a focus on M&A advising principally in the energy, mining, agriculture and transport sectors.

I advise on transactions and projects for various enterprises including government entities across the full range of corporate and commercial matters including acquisitions, joint ventures, restructures covering purely commercial or economic arrangements.

Specifically, I lead two business areas in Australia: the China outbound investment group into the SE Asian and South Pacific regions (however at times I cover outbound Chinese investments into other parts of the globe), and the Papua New Guinea corporate projects group for private enterprise and government entities. These projects typically have a cross-border element.

In the natural resources sector, I cover mining, oil & gas and agriculture. In transport, I typically cover road, sea maritime and logistics generally. My work is specialised in that I principally advise on cross border M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructures, corporate governance and shareholder arrangements and government regulation specifically around foreign direct investment. To this end, I have access to a highly skilled and focused team of Bird & Bird lawyers and support people in Australia and globally (but specifically China, Hong Kong and Singapore).

My clients are both national and international, with a particular focus on China and Papua New Guinea.

Today, you’ll find me listed in Best Lawyers and in Chambers & Partners where I am noted for my expertise in Papua New Guinea working in Corporate/M&A and general business law.
