I am a senior paralegal in our China and Hong Kong Intellectual Property team, where I have extensive expertise handling a variety of trade mark matters.
I have been working in the legal field for over 30 years and my experience in intellectual property related matters spans over 25 years. I specialise in trade mark matters including management of trade mark portfolio and handling contentious trade mark matters in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions and I have worked on matters involving clients in various industries including food and beverage, hotels and resorts, commerce and finance, clothing and fashion, cosmetics and healthcare, education, entertainment, household goods, home appliances, electronic sports, retail and wholesale, telecommunication, travel and tourism, etc.
I have been working extensively on providing pre-filing advice to clients including advising on the marks to be applied for and drafting specifications; conducting trade mark searches and advising on the results; drafting and preparing applications; advising clients in relation to the objections raised by the registry; drafting and preparing arguments for overcoming objections. In addition, I also work on the maintenance of trade mark registrations for clients. I have worked on assignment and licensing of trade marks. In relation to contentious trade mark matters such as opposition, invalidation and revocation proceedings, I have been involved in drafting and preparing documents, and reviewing and advising on the submission of evidence. I also support the work of our group on other transactional and enforcement matters.
