As an associate in our IP team in Brussels, I specialise in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters such as patents, trade marks, designs, copyrights and commercial law.

From early on, I was drawn towards IP because it combines both contentious and non-contentious matters on assets which are often the core business of companies and whilst being non-tangible have a high commercial value.

Before joining Bird & Bird in 2018, I gained valuable legal knowledge through an internship at the European Court of Justice and by working in the market-leading IP department of another law firm here in Brussels.

Whilst I have experience in matters relating to all key intellectual property rights, my work in contentious IP principally concerns patents, trademarks and unfair commercial practices.

Many of the patent and trade mark cases I have recently been involved in have had an international element and I have therefore gained significant experience in advising on and coordinating pan European strategies both with colleagues in Bird & Bird's international offices and with other European counsel.

I also deal with day-to-day commercial issues that companies face such as consumer law, advertising, NDAs, etc.

I believe that a well-developed ability to understand and explain risks including analysis, litigation opportunities and strategic options is key to our profession and that is what we aim to do here at Bird & Bird.
