Alex has experience in a broad range of commercial matters in the media, technology, sports and food & beverage sectors.

Alex is an associate in our Commercial Department based in London.

He advises clients in the media & entertainment, sports, technology and food & beverage sectors (including global media companies, gambling platforms, start ups and a variety of consumer brands and social media platforms), on a wide range of commercial matters and contracts.

Alex has a developing expertise on advertising law and has advised on numerous marketing, sponsorship and promotional arrangements and issues, including lead generation and referral agreements, commissioning and production agreements, product naming, product placement and comparative advertising. He regularly advises on sales and prize promotions and the planning and implementation, including copy review, of multi-channel marketing campaigns. He is experienced in liaising with Clearcast for clearance of television adverts and in defending broadcast and non-broadcast ads from Advertising Standards Authority investigations.

He frequently advises on consumer issues, regularly in relation to terms of sale for e-commerce sites and website terms of use and associated policies, particularly for social media platforms.

He has been seconded twice to EE, advising on marketing and advertising, as well as general commercial, consumer and soft IP issues, and once to the Football Association, working on commercial and regulatory matters.

Alex read Ancient History and Archaeology at Durham before taking the GDL at the College of Law and the LPC at Kaplan Law School. He trained with us and qualified in 2013.
