Alexander advises domestic and international clients on all aspects of patent law.
Alexander is an attorney-at-law in our Düsseldorf office and a member of our Intellectual Property Practice Group. His main focus is on international patent litigation, including those cases with elements of anti-trust law.
Alexander first discovered his interest in intellectual property law while he was a student working at a patent attorney's office. This later resulted in his specific specialisation in patent law. His LL.M. thesis focused on the compulsory license under anti-trust laws and the FRAND topic in both German and U.S. patent law. Furthermore, he is currently completing his doctoral thesis on issues surrounding the calculation of damages in patent law. Alexander spent one academic year in the United Kingdom where he sharpened his English language skills and gained insight into the English legal system. During his legal clerkship, Alexander was mentored by the Presiding Judge of the Second (Patent) Senate of the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf.
After working for several years in two leading international law firms, Alexander joined us in 2018.
He is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR). He is fluent in both German and English.
