Bird & Bird grows its team in Madrid with the arrival of partner and data protection specialist Joaquín Muñoz

There is an increasing need for data protection specialists across the firm and Joaquín’s arrival will further promote Bird & Bird’s privacy and data protection offering within the international Commercial practice. The appointment of Joaquín is part of the firm’s growth plan for the Madrid office.

Joaquín joins the firm from ONTIER, an international law firm operating in 13 countries, where he is currently the global co-head of the TMT practice. He has 18 years’ experience advising technology companies on digital law, data protection compliance, information security, e-Commerce law, entertainment law, IT outsourcing, gambling compliance, intellectual property advice and other issues related to the TMT industry. At Bird & Bird, Joaquín will be part of the Commercial and the Privacy & Data Protection practices advising clients on data protection and cybersecurity matters. Given his extensive experience in the cloud and software, medical devices, the sharing economy, fintech, retail and legal tech industries, Joaquín will also work closely with the Tech & Comms and Media, Entertainment & Sports sector groups.
