Bird & Bird appoints new commercial partner in Paris

Bird & Bird LLP welcomes Cathie-Rosalie Joly as a new commercial partner. Cathie-Rosalie will be primarily based in the Paris office, but also work from Brussels.

She joins from Ulys, a niche IT-oriented firm based in France and Belgium where she was a partner. Cathie-Rosalie has a developed  unique, top level expertise in banking and finance innovation, and joins Bird & Bird's International Financial Services Group. She advises clients from the IT, telecoms or distribution world, as well as those in traditional banking, finance and insurance.

Cathie-Rosalie practices in Paris and is also a Community Lawyer in Brussels (List E) and divides her time between the two cities. She also assists companies with their development in the Maghreb and Africa (in particular the UEMOA area) and occasionally in Luxembourg.

Cathie-Rosalie joined Ulys in 2006 and has been a partner there since 2012. With a pioneering position on issues of paperless transactions and payments, anti-money laundering and combating internal control, Cathie-Rosalie has acquired extensive experience in regulatory and supervisory support for innovative banking services (e-payment, e-money, mobile banking, virtual currency, crowdfunding, KYC, compliance).
