Bird & Bird announced today that it has appointed Montserrat Turrado as a partner in its International Tax Group in Madrid. Montserrat will head up the local tax practice.
Montserrat Turrado joins from the Financial Service Office "FSO" of EY in Madrid, where she was a partner. With more than 25 years' experience in Tax and Regulatory areas and a special focus on the financial services sector, she is perfectly positioned to provide tax advisory services to our clients from both financial and non-financial entities. Her experience includes coordinating and leading specialist teams on projects related to tax issues such as direct and indirect taxation, transfer pricing and tax controversy.
With deep knowledge of the Spanish market, Montserrat has built her practice with a particular emphasis on the Spanish financial market and its regulatory framework, developing a great understanding of her client's tax needs.
Montserrat holds a Bachelor of Law with a Major in Business from the Universidad p. Comillas Madrid and took the Centro de Estudios Financieros course on the Spanish Taxation system in 1991. She is a qualified lawyer and member of Spanish Bar. The author of many articles and chapters on tax issues, Montserrat also lectures and leads seminars on tax issues for CADE, IEB, Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, IFE and IIR, among others.
