Bird & Bird announces that it has appointed Ken Cheung as partner in its Corporate Group in Singapore.
Ken specialises in corporate, commercial and finance law including cross-border transactions, foreign investment, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions and private equity in the Asia-Pacific region. His practice is regional and is focused on South East Asia, in particular Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and more recently, Myanmar. Ken also has many years’ experience working in Australia and for Australian clients in the region, and will work closely with colleagues in the firm's Sydney office.
With a primary focus on the corporate energy sector in the Asia Pacific region, particularly renewables and clean energy, Ken's practice also encompasses the traditional mining and offshore oil & gas industries. Ken has a leading reputation in the renewable energy sector and advises many of the major players. He advises on the corporate and commercial aspects of investments and projects including M&A advice, structuring, joint ventures, supply contracts and IP and technology issues. He also advises clients across a range of other sectors including transport, insurance, IT and media.
Ken is admitted as a Solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales, the High Court of Australia and New South Wales. He holds an LL.B and a BEC. from Macquarie University, Australia.
