It has been an exciting few weeks for the Sport Group at Twobirds, with the team receiving prestigious accolades in Chambers & Partners UK 2015, The Legal 500 UK 2014, and WHO'S WHO LEGAL 2014.
In Chambers & Partners UK, we achieved a stand-alone No. 1 ranking for the first time, with six team members ranked as leading individuals. Previously (since 2007), we had enjoyed a No.1 ranking alongside other firms, but this year we were the only firm to be top-ranked in this category. Individual rankings included co-Head of Sport Jonathan Taylor retaining his "Star Individual" ranking, partners Felicity Reeve and Max Duthie retaining their Band 1 rankings, and "associate-to-watch" rankings for senior associates Craig Giles and Jamie Herbert, and for barrister Liz Riley. Endorsements included being named "A first-rate practice with a great reputation" and "They are the best rounded practice in terms of commercial and regulatory expertise. They stand head and shoulders above the other firms." To read the full commentary and rankings on the Chambers & Partners website, please click here.
The news follows on from the recent publication of The Legal 500 UK edition, which has also named Bird & Bird as the stand-alone firm in the UK ranked No. 1 for Sport. The team received individual rankings for Jonathan Taylor and Max Duthie, and was noted as having "great strength in depth across a range of sports". On an international level, our Sport Group also fared well in the Sport and Entertainment category of WHO'S WHO LEGAL 2014, with six Bird & Bird partners being named as experts for Sport. These included:
In the same publication, Jonathan Taylor was named as one of the five most Highly Regarded Individuals in the world for Sport. Jonathan is the only lawyer in the UK and one of only five lawyers in the world to receive this accolade. For more information about this write-up in Who's Who Legal, please click here.
