Bird & Bird has been acknowledged as one of the 20 most innovative firms operating in Europe after being recognised for our innovative work in disputes and corporate M&A and client service in the FT Innovative Lawyers 2012.
We were highly commended for our work for Nokia in the largest and longest running patent litigation in the electronics sector and for developing new contractual solutions for Agile software development projects.
FTIL also commended our corporate team’s invention of a structure for GTE’s disposal of a quasi-public clean-tech energy company and our challenge of a ruling that would have had hugely detrimental effects on internet service providers.
The work commended in the FTIL report was all underpinned by our deep industry knowledge, one of the key elements that set Bird & Bird apart from our competitors. Our IT sector team led the project to develop contract solutions for agile software development after recognising the potential pitfall our clients faced with existing structures.
This intimate knowledge of IT, together with privacy and competition expertise, played a key part in our strategy for challenging the decision that ISPs should monitor and filter all traffic.
Our international IP team used their expert knowledge of patent courts and the electronics and communications sectors to develop their highly commended multi-jurisdictional strategy for Nokia’s patent litigation.
