International law firm Bird & Bird has advised regular client Index Ventures on the recent £7.5 million Series C round financing of Notonthehighstreet Enterprises Ltd., the online market place for small creative businesses.   Greylock Partners also participated in the round.

Notonthehighstreet Enterprises Ltd. is an online shopping site which brings together small UK businesses to sell their products through a single checkout.  Set up by founders Holly Tucker and Sophie Cornish in April 2006, Notonthehighstreet provides a gateway to small businesses with innovative, well made products and operational values to inspire shoppers looking for style, originality and value, but who rarely find it on the high street.

Angus Miln, a partner in the London Corporate Group, headed the Bird & Bird team, assisted by corporate associate, Ali Ramadan, and trainee, Matthew Pack. Other legal advisors on the transaction included Beshoffs Solicitors, Jones Day, Brown Rudnick LLP, Nabarro LLP, McGrigors LLP and Beachcroft LLP.

André Dubois, General Counsel of Index Ventures, said: "The Bird & Bird venture capital team consistently delivers excellent legal advice and creative solutions. The depth and quality of their experience in these transactions translates to a competitive advantage which we find hugely valuable.”
