CBI’s Director-General Designate John Cridland co-hosted a closed event this morning chaired by Bird & Bird’s CEO David Kerr, on the economic outlook for 2011. Hosted at the firm’s London office, the event was attended by forty of the UK’s top business executives who engaged in the open forum, debating the key economic and political developments effecting UK business.
John Cridland, who officially steps into his role as Director-General at the end of January, has recently commented: “There are many challenges ahead in getting the economy growing and no one thinks that securing the UK’s economic future will be easy. But business people across the country are rolling up their sleeves and getting on with the job.
“I strongly believe that a combination of innovation, dynamism and plain hard graft will help re-build the UK’s international reputation and will ensure that the UK is the best place to invest.”
David Kerr, CEO, Bird & Bird added: “While we remain optimistic of economic recovery in 2011 and beyond, there is a lot of work ahead and we look forward to helping our clients make the most effective commercial decisions possible to support their growth and future development.”
