Annet van Hooft joins Bird & Bird’s International Arbitration Group

Bird & Bird is pleased to welcome Annet van Hooft as senior European counsel. Annet will be based in our Paris office and will be responsible for developing our arbitration work in France.

Annet is a member of the Bars of Rotterdam, Paris and New York and she was previously Senior Associate at Jones Day in Paris. She began her career at Cleary Gottlieb & Hamilton in Brussels and New York, before working in-house at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris.

Annet’s international arbitration work is renowned and she has advised and acted for companies in both the public and private sectors in international arbitrations. She regularly sits as an arbitrator and has a wide experience of conducting major proceedings.

Bird & Bird’s arbitration work has developed considerably in recent years, as recognised by their inclusion in Global Arbitration Review’s top 100 arbitration practices this year. Annet’s arrival will further strengthen the group and drive development in Paris, a key centre for arbitration.

Annet will work closely with Vonnick Le Guillou (co-head of the International Dispute Resolution Group), Marion Barbier (Partner in charge of the Paris Litigation Department), and Sarah Walker (Partner in charge of developing arbitration, London).

Vonnick Le Guillou and Jane Player, Co-Heads of the International Dispute Resolution Group at Bird & Bird comment: “We are delighted to welcome Annet to our fast growing international arbitration team. Annet's experience to date is an excellent fit with our sector-focused arbitration practice.”
