Bird & Bird promotes finance lawyer to partnership

International law firm Bird & Bird today announces the promotion of Andrew Hallgarth to partnership.

Andrew trained with Bird & Bird and has been a member of the Bird & Bird’s Finance Group for 11 years. His practice is international and split between project, acquisition and asset financing in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), The Balkans (SEE) and Central Asia and off-shore structured finance. Andrew’s clients include International Development Banks, leading commercial banks in the CEE/SEE region and a leading international private bank.

Commenting on Andrew’s promotion, David Kerr, Bird & Bird’s CEO, said; “Andrew’s appointment is an important strengthening of the resources of our rapidly expanding International Finance Group. His experience in Central and Eastern Europe fits particularly well with our growing presence in the region – in particular, the opening of four new offices in Bratislava, Budapest, Prague and Warsaw earlier this year.”

Trystan Tether, Head of Bird & Bird’s London Finance Group, added; “Andrew is a talented and experienced lawyer who will be a key part of our international finance group team going forward. His appointment reflects the sustained and unstinting commitment to the needs of our clients which he has demonstrated throughout the last 11 years.”

Commenting on his own promotion, Andrew said; “I am delighted to become a partner. I am confident that my practice will play a part in the continued growth and success of Bird & Bird for the years to come.”
