Bird & Bird boosts real estate group with key recruit

International law firm Bird & Bird has recruited Linda Fletcher, a real estate partner, to join its Real Estate Group. Based in London, Linda will contribute to the continued international expansion of the Group.

Joining from US firm Paul Hastings in London, Linda brings over 15 years of experience gained in both private practice as well as in-house. She focuses on real estate finance with a strong emphasis on advising real estate funds on the acquisition and subsequent disposal of investment properties across Europe, particularly in the hotel and retail sectors. She also has extensive experience providing both transactional advice on environmental liabilities and regulatory advice, with a particular emphasis on chemicals, waste and the impact of European Directives on business.

Commenting on her appointment, Jonathan Baker, head of Bird & Bird’s Real Estate Group said:

“Linda's appointment adds further strength and depth to our rapidly expanding real estate group. In particular her experience of working with real estate funds fits well with our strategy for growth and will enable us to capitalise on a number of synergies this creates with our finance, tax and corporate colleagues, both in London and across Europe. We are delighted to have her on board”.

Commenting, Linda added:

“Bird & Bird’s real estate group is committed to growth internationally. The firm has a strong European network with a strategic and collegiate approach to expansion. Joining them is a logical next step for me.”
