International law firm Bird & Bird has recruited Bertold Frisch, a banking & finance partner, to help build the firm’s finance practice in Germany. Bertold will play an important role in the expansion of the firm’s international finance practice which has grown recently with significant hires in other international offices of the firm, specifically in France, Italy and the UK.
Joining the firm’s Frankfurt office, Bertold brings with him over 15 years experience of a wide range of advice in the banking & financial services sector and has particular expertise in the fields of property and acquisition finance. He has both in-house and private practice experience, having started his career at Deutsche Bank and then having worked for Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel before moving to Allen & Overy in Frankfurt. He joined Gassner Stockmann & Kollegen as a partner in 2005.
Commenting on his appointment, Alexander Schröder-Frerkes, Vice Chairman of Bird & Bird’s German offices said:
“I’m delighted that Bertold is joining us. His appointment will really help drive forward the growth of finance work in Germany”.
Trystan Tether, head of the firm’s international Banking & Finance group added:
