International law firm Bird & Bird has just signed a lease which will give the firm an extra three floors of office space. The new space, which is located in 15 Fetter Lane and will also be the firm’s main address in London, will be ready to expand into at the middle of February.
An extra 24,000 extra square feet will be added to the firm’s existing property holding of 77,000. The majority of the space will be dedicated to client facing facilities.
The new development reflects Bird & Bird’s continuing rapid growth in London and follows on from an expansionary period for the firm which has in recent years grown considerably across all its international offices. In the last six months alone, the firm has added to its arbitration, banking & finance, corporate, competition, employment and IP teams with significant lateral hires in the UK as well as France, Germany, Spain and Hong Kong.
Commenting, David Kerr, Bird & Bird’s CEO said:
“This is an exciting and important development for us which is entirely client driven. Over the past few years, our growth has been significant. We have launched offices across Europe and Asia, and our progress in London has been considerable. This new space reflects this growth; our need for extra space and improved client facilities. We’ve also been very lucky with the location as it is very close to our other London offices and offers fantastic space for our clients”.
