The Dutch office of international law firm Bird & Bird has been advising Bateman Litwin N.V. on its admission to trading to AIM and institutional placing. The placing raised $90 million for the Company giving it a market capitalisation of $326.2 million.
Bird & Bird handled the corporate and securities law issues from a Dutch law perspective for Bateman Litwin N.V. Corporate partner Steven van der Waal and senior associates Ingrid de Haan (corporate) and Lous Vervuurt (banking and finance) handled the work. Bird & Bird’s Dutch office has been involved in a number of AIM listings in recent months and also completed the first ever listing on AIM of a Dutch company – for Bateman Litwin’s former sister company, Bateman Engineering N.V in October last year.
Commenting on the transaction, Irad Rekem, Group General Counsel, Bateman Litwin said:
“We were delighted that Bird & Bird could help us on this deal. They have a lot of experience of AIM listings and their support on this was invaluable”.
Steven van der Waal added:
“This is a growing area of work for us and we are getting involved in more and more AIM listings. From a legal perspective, they offer interesting challenges as each deal requires significant cross-border involvement”.
Bird & Bird also advised XCounter which was the first Swedish company to list on AIM and the first Italian company (Teleunit S.A) to launch on AIM.
