Bird & Bird expands Banking & Financial Services team


International law firm Bird & Bird has recruited Charles Proctor as a new partner in its Banking & Financial Services team. Joining the firm from Nabarro Nathanson, Charles’s appointment is the latest in a series of high profile hires for Bird & Bird in recent months. Charles will be based in the firm’s UK office.

Having worked as a Banking lawyer for over 25 years, Charles brings a wealth of experience to Bird & Bird built up across a wide range, as well as significant volume, of banking transactions. More recently, Charles has also developed particular expertise in the fields of asset-based lending and banking regulatory work.

Commenting on the appointment, Trystan Tether, head of Bird & Bird’s Banking & Financial Services team said:

Bird & Bird has recruited a number of key hires in recent months particularly in the firm’s UK office. In the past month alone the firm has recruited Alistair Crellin, a corporate partner from Pinsent Masons, a team of employee benefits lawyers headed by Guy Abbiss from Lewis Silkin, film finance partner David Quli from Richards Butler and Sarah Walker, a dispute resolution partner from DLA. Internationally too the firm has expanded with the recruitment of a team of aviation lawyers from Clyde & Co, headed by Vonnick le Guillou, to set up a Paris-based Aviation practice while in Sweden, IT partner Stefan Bernhard, and tax partner Christian Luthman joined from Linklaters and even more recently employment partner Katarina Nordblom joined the Swedish team from Vinge.
