Bird & Bird Hire New Partner in Paris

Leading Employment Lawyer Joins the Firm's Paris Office

The Paris office of international law firm, Bird & Bird, has made a significant lateral hire in the form of Benjamine Fiedler. Formerly of Jeantet and Associés and a specialist in employment law, Benjamine joins the firm as a partner, on April 4 2000. Having worked in New York for a major US law firm and through her experience of advising high-profile clients in the press and media, Benjamine's strong international focus will be instrumental in developing the firm's transnational practice.

Since opening for business in January 2000, Bird & Bird's Paris office has been ranked by the international law directory, Chambers Global, as the leading telecommunications practice in France, with Paris managing partner, Frédérique Dupuis-Toubol, named as the country's top telecoms lawyer. The office has expanded from ten lawyers to over 25, during the last three months.

Commenting on Benjamine's appointment, Frédérique Dupuis-Toubol said:

"Business is going from strength to strength in our Paris office, where Bird & Bird's strong sectoral focus has really brought something new to the market place. The addition of employment law to our capability completes the picture, as it is integral to nearly all major transactions in France. With Benjamine's international experience and know-how, we now have an employment partner of the very highest calibre."
