Emergency Break: Legal Aspects on Store Openings and Restrictions after 13 Months of the Pandemic

A new German COVID-19 “Emergency Break” took effect April 24 2021.

In our webinar on 22 April 2021 "Open, Close, Open, Close. Legal Aspects on Store Openings and Restrictions after 13 Months of the Pandemic", we looked into key aspects of the new restrictions. You can find the presentation (in German) here.

The Corona pandemic remains a health, economic and legal challenge. Regulatory tightening introduced by the Fourth Law for the Protection of the Population in the Event of an Epidemic Situation of National Significance of 22 April 2021 raises many questions, especially for retailers. The combination of federal minimum regulations and further state law tightening is making life difficult for many retailers as well as government agencies.

In our webinar "Open, Close, Open, Close. Legal Aspects on Store Openings and Restrictions after 13 Months of the Pandemic", our partner Matthias Lang went into more detail about the current situation, the federal emergency brake, legal protection options, and the authorities' handling of the retail sector. The webinar was moderated by partner Uwe Lüken.
