The UK’s Committee of Advertising Practice requests the removal of gambling ads that appeal to under 18s

On 20th October, the Committee of Advertising Practice circulated a letter to online gambling operators requiring them to amend or remove ads that are likely to appeal to under 18s. The action by the regulator, which is a joint effort of The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP), The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), The Gambling Commission and The Remote Gambling Association (RGA), follows a recent spate of articles in the national press highlighting the use of ads on gambling websites for 'nostalgic' games featuring cartoonish characters and graphics.
