In October 2017 the UK’s consumer protection regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), conducted an investigation into a number of major online accommodation booking sites, raising serious concerns about certain practices commonly being used.
As a result, the CMA published a set of principles to help businesses in this sector comply with consumer law. These principles apply to all online accommodation booking sites offering services to UK consumers, and apply whether or not the business is UK-based. Those who have not met their obligations under consumer protection law by 1 September 2019 may be subject to enforcement action by the CMA.
Join our panel of subject matter experts who'll talk you through the key features of the CMA's guidance, how this guidance affects your business and how to ensure compliance. Whether your business is an online travel agency, search engine, large hotel group, or a short-stay rentals company, this important guidance impacts you. Find out more in our article here.
