Bird & Bird in association with Barclays and RSM have the pleasure of inviting you to attend the second in our series of food & beverage seminars, which focuses on attracting and retaining talent. Whilst this has been a long-standing issue across the industry, the challenges of finding key people will be further exacerbated by the effects of Brexit.

Elizabeth Lang, a partner in Bird & Bird's international Employment team, will review current trends on the use and enforceability of restrictive covenants, analyse recent case law on the enforceability of bonus claims, and provide an overview of the forthcoming gender pay gap reporting requirements.

Fiona Bell, Head of Share Schemes at RSM, will discuss how operators use short-term retention strategies to engage and motivate staff at all levels, as well as how to design share schemes to retain and reward key people over a longer period.

We will also be joined by Marcus Thornley, founder of mobile product studio Play Consulting. Marcus will firstly explain how Play, as a start-up, has been able to successfully create a culture of employee engagement, before using real life examples to demonstrate how food & beverage businesses can maximise engagement among customer-facing employees working outside the share pool.
