From manufacturer to retailer, all those involved with fast moving consumer goods are facing increasingly complex and commercially critical challenges as the market evolves in response to ongoing technological and economic changes.

Increased competition and a need to preserve and grow both margins and market share has resulted in many players in the sector adopting multi-channel strategies that are blurring the traditional divide between manufacturers and retailers and presenting new challenges for the supply chain.

Many of these changes are facilitated by the integration of interactive digital platforms into more traditional retail environments

These seismic changes throw up a host of legal issues that are often ignored by operators until they become problems. Sometimes serious problems that are costly to deal with.

This seminar will help operators, be they manufacturers, part of the supply chain or retailers develop their multi-channel strategies by shedding light on these issues and offering guidance as to how they can best be dealt with.

We will discuss:

  • The evolution of the retail chain
  • The challenges to be faced from both the suppliers' and retailers' perspective
  • Brand protection, including packaging, store design and so on
  • Pricing strategies and other Competition law challenges
