Latest news: The Dutch Government has in the meantime announced that the tenders for Borssele Wind Farm Zone Sites I and II will open on 10 April 2016 and applications can be submitted as of 11 April 2016. As the tenders will close on 12 May 2016, 5 pm (CET), the crucial phase for (potential) bidders has arrived!
Offshore wind is expected to play the key role in the Dutch energy sector in the coming years which will transform the Netherlands into one of the leading European markets for offshore wind energy.
A capacity of 3.5 GW is planned to be tendered, with 1,400 MW in 2016 and 700 MW each year until 2019.
The Dutch government is expected to pay a maximum subsidy of EUR 2.5 billion per zone with a maximum price of EUR 0.124 per kWh.
