Uwe is a partner and specialises in non-technical intellectual property and in particular in trade marks, competition, design and copyrights. He provides strategic advice to many well known German companies.

Uwe focuses on protecting his client’s intangible assets through a combination of monitoring and filing strategies and when necessary, by representing clients at court. He has advised many well known companies on issues relating to colour.  He provides strategic advice and represents clients in proceedings – from filing to infringement litigation. Uwe advises clients on both domestic and multi-jurisdictional issues.

He is a seasoned speaker on a variety of topics relating non-technical intellectual property and is the Co-Editor and Author of the “Stöckel/Lüken Handbook on Trademark Law”.

Uwe studied law at the Universities of Passau and Bochum. He was admitted before to Regional Court Düsseldorf Bar in 1998 and has been a partner at Bird & Bird since 2002.
