Ulrich joined the IT Practice Group at Bird & Bird at the end of 2007 as a specialist in IT and data protection law. He has substantial knowledge and practical experience in handling and advising on national and international IT agreements (focusing on software licensing, distribution and e-commerce), regulatory issues (in particular data protection) as well as in copyright law, general commercial and corporate law.

Ulrich passed his German Bar exam in 2007 and was admitted to the German Bar in 2008. He completed his legal training in Hamburg and wrote his doctorate thesis on marketing, data protection and the internet in Berlin. From 1997 to 2002, Ulrich studied law at the universities of Berlin, Freiburg, and Jena. In addition, he further improved his language skills in taking courses at the universities of Barcelona, Grenoble and Kaliningrad. Ulrich previously worked at a major Internet Service Provider as a member of the legal team dealing with IT contract law, data protection and IP issues.
