Stefan is a corporate lawyer and focuses on advising clients in company reorganisations, joint ventures and private equity transactions. In addition to his transactional practice, he advises clients in all areas of corporate and commercial law.

Stefan has been with Bird & Bird since October 2002 and has been a Partner since May 2004. Prior to this, Stefan was an M&A Corporate lawyer in the Düsseldorf offices of various notable large German firms. Stefan was also a foreign associate with Holland & Knight LLP in New York (2000/2001).

Stefan studied law at the Universities of Düsseldorf and Bochum from 1990 to 1995 and is the holder of the Goethe Prize awarded by the legal faculty of the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf for the best legal dissertation of 2000.
