Rachel qualified in September 2006 into the Intellectual Property Group at Bird & Bird.
Rachel’s work is primarily litigation based, particularly in relation to patents, although she also has experience working on trade mark and passing off matters. She has a particular interest in the life sciences and has acted in various commercially important pharmaceutical patent actions. She has also contributed to certain legal publications as well as given presentations externally.
Rachel graduated from the University of Alberta, Canada in 1997 with a BSc in Cell Biotechnology. After a year spent researching and presenting on health care ethics, she went on to complete a Masters in health care ethics at the University of Leeds. Rachel then went on to work in medical publishing and during that time completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course.
